Our Story
Most painting companies start with a brush. We started with a hammer — building multi-million-dollar custom homes in Gainesville. That's why our prep work holds up when everyone else's peels.
How It Started
My story starts over 20 years ago — not behind a desk, but on job sites across Gainesville, where I first picked up a hammer and learned what it takes to build something that lasts.
I began my career building multi-million-dollar custom homes. That foundation in construction gave me an eye for detail, a respect for craftsmanship, and a drive to do things right the first time.
That's why Carter's exists: to bring a builder's mindset and a painter's precision to every project. We know how a wall was put together, so we know exactly how it should be prepped before a drop of paint touches it.
Our Vision & Mission
Set the standard for professionalism in this industry by delivering consistent, detail-driven results — and make every client feel valued from the first call to the final walkthrough.
Six things we don't negotiate on
Rot, failed caulk, water damage, chalking substrate — we look for it during the estimate and price it then, in writing, before we leave. Twenty years of construction work is what lets us spot it. You shouldn't be getting a change-order phone call in week two.
Clean, repair, sand, prime. A quality paint job begins long before the first coat — and it's the step cheap bids quietly skip.
Sherwin-Williams paints and coating systems built for Florida sun, rain, and humidity — never builder-grade shortcuts.
Furniture protected, lines crisp, job site clean at the end of every single day. You should be able to live in the house while we work in it.
We strengthen our crew through leadership and growth. Painters who are respected and trained stay — which is why you get familiar people at your home instead of whoever was available.
Every project ends with a walkthrough together and a punch list — not an invoice in your inbox. That's what our satisfaction guarantee actually means in practice.
The Crew
No rotating subcontractors, no strangers in your driveway. This is the team — and they're the reason the reviews read the way they do.
